BOTOX® Cosmetic is composed of a purified protein that is injected beneath the skin in very small doses to relax the targeted muscles, resulting in a smoothing of wrinkles. Safe and Effective

BOTOX® Cosmetic has been proven safe and effective both in clinical studies and in actual usage. It works by temporarily paralyzing the tiny muscles that are responsible for the forehead and eye wrinkles that can come with age. These muscles are specifically targeted by Dr. Chung, and the larger muscles which control facial expression will not be affected.

Many first-time BOTOX® patients at Dr. Chung’s practice are afraid of having a frozen or stiff expression as a result of BOTOX® Cosmetic. When administered by experienced providers, like Drs. Nancy and Christopher Chung, BOTOX® results should be natural and subtle, but still noticeable.

Your BOTOX® Treatment

A typical BOTOX® treatment takes only about 10 minutes with little to no downtime afterward. The needle used to administer BOTOX® Cosmetic is very fine, and causes little discomfort or swelling. Most patients are able to return to everyday activities immediately following their treatment. Many patients will opt to combine their BOTOX® procedure with other minimally invasive options, such as dermal fillers.

Before your injections, Dr. Nancy Chung will first clean the area and then inject a very small amount of BOTOX® Cosmetic into the desired areas of treatment. The relaxing and smoothing of the skin will occur gradually over the next few days, with most patients seeing full results after 5 to 7 days. The effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic can last 4 to 6 months, with best results achieved from regularly scheduled treatments.
